wnen tne respected wirthhn Polling Organization conducted a national survey in 1990, it found that fully 65% of consumers polled had positive remarks to make about funeral homes and cemeteries. Moreover, three out of five of those polled indicated they believed that prearranging their own funerals or burials made good sense. Over half (53%) already owned cemetery property. More than one in four had already preplanned their own funerals, and over half of that number had prepaid them. Five years later, a follow up national survey conducted by the same organization showed that the satisfaction level among consumers had risen to 68%. The most recent survey this year shows that consumers’ positive ratings of the industry have increased to 69%.
