The weather was more cooperative over the holiday break for RCHS athletics, but the competition was too much for the Panther teams.

Basketball

The boys' basketball teams spent their holiday break in the Page County High school gym. Unfortunately for the Rapp squads there were no holiday cheers to celebrate after this tournament.

On Wednesday, Dec. 27 both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams were in action. The JV squad started the day and the tournament with a 10 a.m. contest against the hosting Page County JV team. The Page'JV defeated the Panther JV team 66 to 45 in the tournament opener.

David Letsen led the Rapp squad with 11 points and Andrew Gordon added 10. This game was immediately followed by another JV contest which pitted the JV Panthers against the JV Bulldogs from Luray High School.

The RCHS team played a great game and just came up short at the buzzer, falling to the Luray JV team by a final score of 42 to 39. Ryan Brown led the JV Panthers with 12 points in the losing effort. This was the end of the holiday
