vv t* saw tnai tut* wasnington Town Council is constituted of people with impassioned and honest, but strongly differing, opinions on how to deal with wastewater problems and other Town issues. We watched as some of them left the Council in pretest, and then returned in an alWtnpt to work again form the inside.
We watched as the School Board wrangled with its great budget, and we followed the difficulties of one of the new members and waited for her resignation. We learned of progress and problems with the state Standards of Learning, heard of the retirement of the assistant superintendent, and the selection of a new high school principal.
We took pride in the effective performance of our elected and appoint- "* ed officials, and saw their professionalism in action at meetings of the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Planning Commission and the School Board.
We were saddened at the passing of , dear friends—among them William Carrigan and John Trott — and gladdened at the praise directed at well-performing friends.
We were relieved, but probably not surprised, that Y2Khaos did not chew up the technology and machinery that runs our lives, though some of us probably wish that it did.
We read of upcoming events, and music festivals and concerts and fund ‘ raisers and celebrations and winery awards.
