Additional survivors include two stepdaughters and seven stepsons.
Mr. Wood is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Jean Wood Binns of Albuquerque, N.M. and Mary Hunter Wood Altus of Columbia, S.C., 23 grandchildren and one greatgrandson.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his
William Henry Wood Sr. and Mary Margaret Hunter Wood and his maternal grandparents, Henry Gordon Wayland Sr. and Mary Bruce Wayland.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington with Pastor Douglas Harris officiating.
