Winter Camp scheduled
A 4-H Winter Camp for 4-Her“s with previous camping experience, ages 9-14, will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal, Feb. 9-11. Rappahannock will be camping with Culpeper and Shenandoah counties at this winter camp. The them is “Camp Hollywood!" and the cost for this fabulous, fun weekend is only $63
Registration is due in the Rappahannock Extension Office by Jan. 26. Space is limited for campers and teen 4-H counselors with previous training on first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in attending this “star studded" 4-H camping program, contact the Extension Office at 675-3619 to request a registration package.
Holiday to be observed
In observance of the Robert E. Lee and Martin Luther King holidays, the Culpeper Virginia Employment Commission will be closed on Friday, Jan. 12 and Monday, Jan. 15. The office will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 8:30 a.m. “Please file your claim for unemployment benefits early to insure prompt processing of your claim,* said a spokesperson.
Softball clinics to begin
All Rappahannock County girls in sixth through 12th grade who are interested in becoming fast pitch softball pitchers or catchers are invited to attend open clinic starting in January. Eight clinics will be held at the high school gym on Sundays beginning Jan. 7 at 12:30 p.m.
There will be no cost for the instruction. Attendees should come dressed to play in the gym with tennis shoes and their ball gloves.
