The year 2000 has been an interesting one. We survived Y2K in spite of all the things that were predicted, such as computer failure that would affect everyone including grocery stores, banks, electricity and much more. Most everyone bought extra food in preparation for the gloom and doom day.

We have heard far too much about Monica Lewinsky, which was such a scandal for our country. It almost embarrassed anyone to watch TV.

We have mourned with the loss of our armed forces on the bombing of the USS Cole, so many lives lost. It makes us stop and appreciate everyone now and in the past who have served our country to protect us and keep our freedom.

We all went to the polls on Nov. 7 to elect a new President. Weeks later we still did know who our new President would be.
