Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Promise Land Baptist Church in Washington. The Rev. Forrest Freeman will officiate. Interment will be in the Timbers-Gatewood Family Cemetery in Washington.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. at W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper and on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at Promise Land Baptist Church.

William Wood III

Government employee

William Henry Wood III, 61, of Canmer, Ky., died Dec. 22 in Kentucky.

He was bom Oct. 28, 1939 in Front Royal to the late William Henry Wood Jr. and Myra Elizabeth Wayland Wood.

Mr. Wood graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Range Management.

He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 30 years in New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.

His family owned Wood Acres dairy farm in Amissville for many, many years. Mr. Wood attended Forest Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Betty Marie Reidhead Wood of Canmer, Ky.; two sons, William Russel Wood of Rio
