PUBLIC HEARING/NOTICE

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging (RRCSB-AAA), Culpeper, Virginia, provides transportation services for the elderly and disabled within Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock. These services transport individuals to and from rehabilitation programs, outpatient services, meal programs, and other services operated by the RRCSP-AAA and private providers. Funds are being requested from the Commonwealth of Virginia to purchase five (5) thirteen passenger vans through the FTA Section 5310 Program. These vehicles will be utilized to maintain existing services and replace vehicles in the current fleet that have in excess of 150,000 miles. We invite any interested public or private transit or paratransit operator within the Planning District 9 area to comment on the proposed services by sending a written notice by February 28, 2003 to Mr. Neil Sherman, Department of Rail and Public Transportation, P.O. Box 590, Richmond, Virginia 23218-0590 and to the Attention of the Executive Director, RRCSB-AAA, P.O. Box 1568, Culpeper, Virginia 22701. Comments can also be made at the planned public hearing to be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the main office of the RRCSB-AAA, 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper. A copy of the application is available for inspection at 15361 Bradford Road (RRCSB-AAA Offices) Culpeper, Virginia.
