While I am sure Dr. Krehser deserves the praise, the fact that the majority is often discounted in the running of the county is the point I am making. Our election and tax dollars create and support these boards and our dollars pay for all county official salaries.
Perhaps all of us, myself included, are at fault to allow this consolidation of governing to continue.
I gently chide and include the Rappahannock News. The “Our View" column rarely sides with the people. Countless editorials praise the no growth policy and the administrators’ decisions. No growth seems to be the banner for areas surrounding Little Washington but not the northern or eastern end of the county.
In Huntly at the end of the northern county line we have a development call Fox Run. On route 610, the access road to Chester Gap, three small rental houses were built on less than half an acre of land. Amissville is the eastern side of the county targeted for a development.
A questionable decision by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors is the location of the new Rappahannock bank on Route 2 111 My church is on one side and the school on the other with open fields adjacent and behind the site.
