A process that began 20 years ago will mark a milestone next month, when the company that is surveying historic properties in Rappahannock County makes its final public presentation to the county.
EHT Traceries, Inc. of Washington, D.C. has been surveying historic properties here since it was awarded its contract in 2001.
It is documenting 190 properties in the county. Some 165' of those are being surveyed externally while 25 more are having a more intensive documentation of both exteriors and interiors.
Traceries is also collecting information for additional historic districts in the county. Currently Washington and Sperryville are the only two historic districts. Traceries is gathering information on Flint Hill, Laurel Mills and Woodville as additional ones.
