Thoroughbred stallion was barely hanging on after the weeks of brutally cold weather. The veterinarian who examined the horse said he was so malnourished he had lost muscle control.
Bogley had Clark sign the horse over to Middleburg Humane Foundation. At one point, they thought they would have euthanize the animal.
“We were not sure he was going to make it," Bogley said. “The good thing is he is bright eyed, enthusiastically eating and drinking water.”
“A horse does not get into this kind of emaciated state from a couple of weeks,” she added. “This takes months of starving."
