Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance (RCCA), the Rappahannock Historical Society, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP), the Amissville Area Community Association, the Lions Club, the Tbwn of Washington, the Piedmont Environmental Council, Moose Hill Enterprises, and several individuals.
Jeff Light, a Woodville resident and owner of an important historic property, then assumed leadership of the coalition.
Mr. Light asked the supervisors to approve the fund raising effort. He received their blessing and a pledge that the county would contribute funds to the project.
In the end, $30,000 was raised, $15,000 from RCCA,
