Sex offenses involving any family are serious and heartbreaking, especially when the accused admits their own guilt. The perpetrator’s wife, also the foster parent, is as guilty as the perpetrator in this particular case. The foster parent withheld information that, had it been revealed, would have saved many months of despair and grief from her own family as well as the victim.
According to the law, persons such as teachers, medical professionals and other professionals working with children are required to report any illicit activity against a minor, upon receipt of such information. As a teacher and foster parent, Mrs. Fournier did not report the incident to any of the proper authorities.
