Protecting county waters

RappFLOW will present a program on air and water quality in the Shenandoah National Park and how it affects Rappahannock County on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Old Sperryville Schoolhouse (formerly Faith Mountain Company) in Sperryville. Much of the water that flows in Rappahannock County streams comes from headwaters in the Shenandoah National Park. Join other citizens at this first workshop sponsored by RLEP, Piedmont Environmental Council, Sperryville Gateway Project, Shenandoah National Park and others.

Umpire Clinic on March 30

There will be an Umpire Clinic on Sunday, March 30 for the Piedmont Softball Association and the Rappahannock Athletic Association (baseball) at 3 p.m. at Bill Payne's Auction Gallery on Route 211 in Amissville. Democrats to meet

Parenting classes

A parenting workshop on effective discipline of children ages two to 12, sponsored by the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services, is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Services for Lent

The Washington Baptist Church will host ecumenical services for Lent on each Wednesday through April 9. Nearby Catholic, Episcopal, Baptist and Methodist churches are participating. A pot-luck dinner at 6:15 p.m. begins each gathering, followed by a one hour Lenten service which begins at 7 p.m. Nursery care is available. The public is invited.
