The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District and its partners provide technical assistance to landowners seeking ways to improve their stewardship of the land, and administer programs which provide financial assistance for this purpose.
The Virginia Agriculture Best Management Practices (BMP) Tax Credit Program offers a 25 percent state tax credit to landowners who install one of 44 eligible BMPs on their property. Cost share funds are currently available through the Virginia BMP Cost-Share Program.
The district also assists with various federal programs which provide significant financial assistance to farmers who establish beneficial practices on their land.
The Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) provides incentive for landowners to improve water quality by planting streamside forest. The
