“When I was just born I had a disease that hurt my leg, and if they hadn’t amputated it I would have died. So I’ve lived with this my whole life - it’s normal to me. The worst part is that I have to have surgery from time to time as I grow. But Dr. Allen used this new procedure, and this time, instead of every two years, 1 waited four years between operations. That might not sound like much, but to me it’s huge! I can swim, ski, and play baseball and soccer. 1 can do just about anything any other 11-year-old can do.
