Thomas E. (Tbmmy) Brown was honored recently by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in recognition of his service to the agency.
Brown came to work at VDOT 35 years ago in the district laboratory where samples of all the materials used in highway construction and maintenance are tested.
He began his career as a skilled laborer and is now an engineering technician supervisor. In addition to hands-on experience in the various sections of the lab, he has earned and renewed numerous certifications through the various materials /schools offered by VDOT. '
Brown and his wife, Joyce, have been married for 34 years and reside in Rappahannock County.
