not large enough to produce an adequate pool of highly qualified candidates interested in pursuing these degrees. He added that only 40 percent of RCHS students attend a four year college, already making a dent in the number of individuals who could be considered for Darby’s scholarship.

Regardless of this, the board is taking Darby’s presentation seriously.

“We will work with the high school to list scholarship dead- , lines on the monthly calendar,” said School Superintendent David Chappell.

Darby and the board are looking at other publicity boosters as well.

“The school is meeting soon with seniors and parents. Scholarships will be one of the items discussed,” he said.

Darby is hoping that these efforts will work to get the word out. If not, he said, he will consider aiming the gift at a different field.

“Well give it another shot this year but it might be redirected in the future,” said Darby, who is looking at a focus perhaps in the critically staffed field of nursing.

Tiana Lucking was fightirlg hard in the midfield, making pretty moves with her dribbling and threatening the Madison goal. In the second half they broke through with two quick goals by Morgan Flournoy and assists by Megan Wheatley. Hannah Rosenbaum scored a fourth goal on the nicest play of the game.

Morgan Flournoy passed it outside to Marcella who passed it back in to Morgan who touched it to Megan and then over to Hannah for the score. It was the kind of passing and movement that the coach lives for. Ella Miller saved the rest of the second half by cutting off Madison’s fast break repeatedly. Brittany Clatterbuck continued her strong play at goalie with some tremendous stops. Next we^k the team plays Madison again but at home.
