Rappahannock National Bank opened the doors on its new facility on Route 211 on Monday, Sept. 22. Bank President Mike Leake addressed an audience of 20 county residents at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:45 that morning.
He informed bank customers that the new building was dedicated to them, and that without the loyalty of the community the bank would not have been able to open the Hew facility.
“I am overwhelmed and honored to be able to stand here today," he said.
After a brief prayer from the Rev. Jennings Hobson III of Trinity Episcopal Church Leake, along with Alphaeus Cannon, a member of the bank’s Board of Directors, cut the ribbon marking the official opening of the new establishment.
Frances Foster, the bank’s longest customer, was then the first to enter the building.
An open house will be held at the bank on Saturday, Oct. 4 for customers interested in seeing the bank, winning prizes and touring the building.
