The proposed ordinance is for NEW BUSINESSES ONLY—facilities that require a site plan. Existing lighting is grand fathered. The proposed ordinance contains NO restrictions on existing businesses unless they upgrade their lighting. It contains NO restrictions on residences.
Lighting ordinances are not just for the dark skies and tree hugger geeks. A lighting ordinance will make our county safer.
