Youth Theatre
Registrations are being accepted for the next six week Rainbow Bridge Youth Theatre After-School Drama Classes for ages 6-12. Flu shots
Flu shots will be available at the Rappahannock County Health Department on Friday, Oct. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Bring your Medicare or Medicaid card. Private pay fee is $15.
Community breakfast

Rabies vaccination clinic
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL) will hold a rabies vaccination on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its headquarters on Route 639 off Route 211 in Amissville by the landfill. Life Stories Workshop
A three-day introductory session will be held Oct. 17-19 taught by Julie Portman and presented by Ki Theatre. Participants experience how to write freely and write three stories. Call 540-987-3164 to register. Fee is $355.
House tour/flower sale
The 47th Annual Dried Flower Sale and House Tour, sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of Trinity Church, is set for Oct. 18 and 19. Events begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday, and go to 5 p.m. each day. Tour headquarters and the dried flower sale is at Trinity Church in Little Washington.-A tea will be held nearby at the Middleton Inn from 2 to 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are $15 to visit all three houses and have tea; individual homes may be visited for $5 each. The three homes are in Amissville.
Butler for sheriff rally
Steve Butler, candidate for Rappahannock County Sheriff will hold his final rally at the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department to meet with community residents on Saturday, Oct 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Complementary food will be served. Butler will address guests at 6 p.m. A question and answer period will follow.
Live jazz at art show

Artist and “Jazz-Harmonicist” Denny Toyy will join “The Intrepids” Jazz-Trio at the opening reception of the new Toyy-Kuhn Fine Art Gallery on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 311 Gay and Jett Street in Little Washington. An exhibition entitled “2 Mighty Sculptors” presents the works of two Northern Virginia sculptors Robert E. Kuhn (1917-2000) (figures in the “welded-Steel” medium) and Denny Toyy (large “Pop” sculptures.)
Bolen cemetery day
The annual clean up-picnic at the Bolen family cemetery is Saturday, Oct. 18. Meet by 11 a.m. at the parking area at the end of Keyser Run Road (Route 614) in Gid Brown Hollow. Those who can supply the use of four-wheel vehicles will be appreciated. Bring a drink and/or dish to share. In case of inclement weather it will be Saturday, Oct. 25.

A forum for candidates running for the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors, sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street in Little Washington. Candidates will respond to questions on county issues. Everyone is invited.
RLEP annual meeting
The 34th annual meeting for members of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection and the public will be on Oct. 24 at the Washington Fire Hall at 7:30 p.m. with the third in this year's program series, “Treasures of Rappahannock.” The county’s rural roads will be discussed by VDOT engineers, Sheriff Larry Sherertz and Marc Malik.
