And action, clearly, is a guiding force for both.
The Burdicks work once a week with neighbor and nationally-recognized oil painter Sandra Massie Forbush. Her tutelage honed their interest.
“I didn’t feel at all qualified to teach them art,” explained Jane Burdick, who homeschools the boys when she’s not at work as Fauquier Hospital’s food services director.
“That’s why we originally went to Patty for lessons. And, now, with their interest in oil painting, we look for Sandra for guidance,” she said.
