Mr. Wright went to work for the Civil Aeronautics Board where he helped prepare cases for legal teams fighting against unsafe or illegal airline practices.

In a dramatic career change, he began working as a consultant for the Wilderness Society which took him all over the U.S. He lobbied in Congress against strip-mining, the Alaskan Pipeline and the Concord.
