who spends every free moment meandering the mountains, streams and byways of our county and the granddaughter of a splendid and selfpublished poet, I resent the

laper’s recent profile of Joy mien.

I’ve been enjoying the paper’s profiles featuring folks from the county with varied backgrounds and interests. They all seem to share the distinction that they are longtime, active participants and contributors to the well being of this county. Joy Lorien has most certainly earned a place in this group.

So, Mr. Rosemond doesn’t like Joy Lorien’s writing— what’s with the vicious attack? Don’t read it. Furthermore, he only wants to hear about folks who are prize winners and have “mastered” their skills. Wow, that’s going to eliminate an awful lot of non-prizewinning but fascinating people. And, who gets to judge whether those skills have been mastered or not?
