Rappahannock County’s supervisors looked sprightly and wry but their conversation at one juncture turned to an interesting issue that someone could have mistaken as staying power, if not mortality itself.
At the board’s monthly meeting last week, the supervisors were talking about “staggered terms of members of the governing body," according to County Administrator, John McCarthy, who brought it up, not so much out of the blue, he said, but because nearly four years remain before another election, plenty of time to deal with and introduce staggered terms if that decision is made.
