Panthers’ first touchdown of the season said, “The funny thing is, I did the wrong thing on the play. I was supposed to stay outside and contain the run, but for some reason I went inside. It was just instinct, I guess. I saw the ball right there. The quarterback wasn’t holding it too tight, he had it in one hand. I just took it.

“I was excited, but didn’t feel any extra pressure. I just wanted to win. I think we all did,” said Bradley.

Senior quarterback Paige Payne was on the sideline with cramps. “When we lost the ball on the fumble, I thought that was it,” Payne said. “But when we got it right back and Nick scored the touchdown, I went out there for the kick.

“I could hardly put weight on my leg. I didn’t really think about the pressure or whether we’d tie if I missed it or anything. I was just trying to get the kick off.”
