On March 29, 2009 a retirement wremony was held for Paul S. Cooper. GMC aboard the USS Kinkring FFG 42 in Moyport. Flonda. The ceremony was attended by his parents Bob and Louise Ludwick of Chester Gap, sis* ters; Robin Lee of Washington. VA and Donna Guidice of Sterling. VA and brother Bob Ludwick. Jr. of Sterling.VA. Three of his four sons were also in attendance: Jarrett. Joshua. and Noah. A reception was held at the CPO Club and was attended by family, friends, and follow shipmates.
Chief Cooper enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve on April 27. 1996 and reported to the LTSS W.S. SIMS FF 1059 in Moyport, FL after completing training in the winter of 198B.. Chief Cooper left active duty on January 5. 1990 as a Second Cluss Petty Officer. He returned to the Navy Reserve in a drill status from March 199 Ito October 1991 and then rcyuined again in March of 1993. This time he stayed with the Reserves until his retirement.
