Finally; we have just begun to address the real and hard questions of how we raise revenue Sir the eounty budget. The most recent joint effort of the Supervisors and School Board in Richmond promise some relief in the future. But the effort for reform has just begun. Ail across the country communities are starting to lobby for a fresh look at the idea of funding schools solely on the basis of a property tax. The critics of the school budget should join that reform effort rather than pick on the easiest budget item to attack in their frustration.
If you don't want the Rappahannock Schools to take a step back, now is the time to speak up. each and every one of us. The Supervisors do listen.
