Sugar Bee
Bred in Virginia by Norman Brown by Del Bee out of Sugar Mama. Sugar Bee began his jump racing career over hurdles with owner Reynolds Cowles and trainer Felix Nuesch. He moved to the Maryland stable of Charlie Fenwick Jr. for new owner Mrs. Wallace Lanahan. then for owner Nick Arundel.
In 1983, Sugar Bee won the International Gold Cup over hurdles at the now-denmet Rolling Rock races in Pennsylvania. He repeated the feat m the 1986 International, which was turned into a timber stakes when it moved that year to Great Meadow, a course created by Arundel
In 1986, Sugar Bee won the Virpnja Gold Cup, and in *87 the versatile chestnut won the Maryland Hunt Cup
