The 181-page book is beautiful - it looks t expensive ($24.95) - but it is not intimidating and overly complex like some fancy cookbooks. Many of the recipes for breakfasts and dinners are very humble and easy to prepare. Best of all, it has full page color photographs.
What pushed their initial project over the hump was a guest, John Spaulding, a professional photographer. He was also fellow connoisseur and lover of fine food.
When he learned they were putting together a book of their favorite recipes, he asked if he could take some photos..
After shooting hundreds of photos of various dishes in different settings throughout the inn, Spalding gave them a slide show which John said, “blew them away.”
“From that point,” he said, “it became more than a threering binder” '
