Emily Carter of Amissville, now a senior, has been a mainstay of the volleyball squad and knows the game is not a career. She is “maybe” pointing herself toward nursing, and needed to write an essay to accompany applications to the University of Virginia, George Mason and other big schools. Emily took that chore to Hope and says, “She’s definitely been a big help. She helped me decide what I wanted to write about.”
Next Step regularly reaches down far beyond senior year. Even fourthgraders get a dose of how important studying is. For sixth and seventh graders, says Hope, it is important “to let’em know there’s gonna be a transcript.”
