This is (hrl Scout week across the nation and in Rappahannock attention is focused on the Cadet and Girl Scout Trixip under the supervision of Mrs. Phyllis Rees and Mrs. Harriet Stokes, respectively. Among the girls wearing their scout uniforms to school this week in observation of their week are Sue Titchenell, Wanda Jett, Jeannie St. Clair. Rae Rector and Susan Kindred The subscription rate for the Rappahannock News will increase beginning April 1. The local rate, which includes Rappahannock. Culpeper, Madison, Page, Fauquier and Warren counties, will be S3; the rate for Virginia and the east coast will be $3.50; the mid-west will be $4 and the west coast will be $4.50. We regret having to increase our rate, but increases in postage and overhead makes this necessary. David H. Semmes rode August Acorn to victory in the feature race, the Ben Venue, in the Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point which was held Sunday after being postponed from Saturday a week before. The wet turf on the rolling terrain at J. W. Fletcher’s Thornton Hill farm was tossed in the air by the horses.
