A day of music and dance performances highlights the First Annual Tez Fest on June 27 from noon until 9 p.m.
The outdoor concert will be held at Pleasant View Acres, home of James Russell. Dontez Harris, event coordinator, envisions a day of music that will appeal to young and old alike. The lineup of artists begins at noon with a performance by Dontez’s music students from Belle Meade School.
Additional artists include: Maureen Day, Lorraine Duisit. Kitty Keyser, Wendv Sirat, the Selfish (’hild group. Ben Mason on keyboard performing with his sons Arlo and Henry, the Honey Hollow “ Hula Hoopers, Mechanism. Smiggy and Friends, Marys of the Sea Dance Generation and Black Sheep Reggae Band.
The reggae band, which garnered numerous "Warnmie” awards (Washington Area Music Association), is said to be one of the finest reggae bands in Washington, DC. Its music combines the influence of the islands with R&B and jazz and the result is an eclectic sound that mesmerizes with the rhythmic reggae beat and draws you to your feet.
