He’s been a singer, an actor, a writer, a twoterm congressman from Georgia. Now Ben Jones, perhaps better known to television viewers as Cooler Davenport on the “Dukes of Hazzard” (and Buster to his family), has set up Cooter’s, a general store, “Dukes of Hazzard” Museum. Located across U.S. 211 from the Sperryville Emporium, Cooter’s opened this past weekend to a marveling crowd, many of whom were stopped by the sight of the General Lee, the Duke’s show - cased 1969 Dodger Charger R/T.
John Henry Woodward served before as Rappahannock County Sheriff. He would lika to serve the county in that capacity again. Woodward, a life long resident of the county, worked for the Sheriff’s Office for 15 years including 12 years as sheriff until 1996. He is seeking the position once more because he finds it “fulfilling to be doing something for the county. 1 believe 1 can still serve the county well.”
