Request for
water taps
At last month’s council meeting, the council tabled an old application for water taps outside the town limits by William Metcalf.
The debate seemed to go on much the same lines as last meeting - town attorney John ^Bennett recommending denying the application because it would set a precedent that could lead to similar requests - and council members seemed to be sympathetic to Metcalfs arguments that the requested taps were justified on the basis that there used to be at least one tap on his properties, and that all the properties surrounding his had town water.
