The festival, which runs July 3-19, is an outgrowth of the Castleton Residency program which invites promising young artists to hone their talent under the tutelage of Maestro Maazel.
Last week, Terry Robey - technical director for all of the events at the Maazels - was busy supervising a lighting crew as they raised complex trusses laden with wires and kleg lights into place high above the floor inside the tent.
Across the farm at the theater, his wife Janet, was busy coordinating the feeding and housing of the crews and musicians that will be here over the summer.
Right now, she said, she feeds about 50 for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They all also have to have beds and accommodations.
Chateauville Foundation has its headquarters in New York where the Maazels spend a lot of their time - Lorin Maazel is the conductor and director of the New York Philharmonic.
But not for much longer. This is his last season, said Doug Beck, director of the foundation and here in Rappahannock to supervise the festival.
