The biggest problem principal Adam Burkett of Rappahannock County High School had with Tuesday’s controversial speech by President Obama to students nationwide is which channel it was on

“We scrambled to find it," he said, “it wasn't on any of the major networks

It was on C-SPAN, the cable channel that covers Congress - a regular resource for government and social studies classes.

Once in front of the TV, more than 100 students in the lunch area were “riveted” by the speech.

“The kids weren't talking, they were watching,” said School Superintendent Bob Chappell Tuesday night at the School Board
