‘Sugar’ comes to the

Theatre on Sept. 18

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community will show the movie "Sugar" on Sept. 18 at The Theatre in Washington at 8 p m

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students.

A talented Dominican baseball player, Miguel “Sugar" Santos, longs to break into the American big league and earn the money needed to support his impoverished family. He is a talented pitcher, but before major league happens hell have to prove his worth in the minor leagues.

He enters the minor league system at the age of 19 and is warmly welcomed into the small-town Iowa home of his host family. Events force him to reevaluate his life’s ambition and to question both the world he lives in and the role he has chosen to play in it.
