Reid, 45. and both assistants, Reid says, are first-aid and CPR certified, and owner Reid is also Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified. The center recently was awarded a three-year license by the state Department of Social Services.
The other recent sign of growth at Baby Bear, which offers* full- and part-time and drop-in service from 7 a m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, is the center’s new, large white van, used for an increasing number of field trips and' painted colorfully by the Sign Shop in Culpeper.
“This summer we’ve been to Shenandoah National Park, to the pool, the do-ityourself pottery store - and Dinosaur Land," Reid says. The center operated a Monday-through-Friday summer camp schedule through this summer until the school year restarted tw o weeks ago. “And seven of our kids graduated to kindergarten this year."
