Miss Covington Lt. C. D. Chase Wed at Crewe The marriage of Miss Peggy Lee Covington, daughter of Mrs. Maurice A. Covington, of Crewe, and the late Mr. Cov ngton. to Lt. Charles Dexter Chase, son of Judge and Mrs. Paul Addison Chase, of South Newfore. Vt.. was solemnized at 8 p. m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Crewe Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank B. Handley of ficiated. Given in marriage by her bro ther, Robert Covington, of Crewe, the bride wore a candlelight satin and Chantilly lace gown. Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a tiara of satin and pearls. She carried a crescent bouquet of Johanna bud roses. Mrs. Clarence Albert Riser was j her sister's matron of honor., Bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert j Covington, sister-in-law of the bride, of trcwc. and Miss Fran- i res Davenport, of Amelia. The at tendants wore off shoulder Col onial gowns of white net and car ried cascades of cerise carnations. Edith Ward Covington, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her gown was of colonial styled white net. Mr. Chase was his son's best i man. Ushers were Stuart Wood son Covington, brother of the bride, of Crewe: Lt. Robert F. Blumhagen. of Alexandria; Joseph Judge, of Washington. D C . and John Kennedy, cousin of the groom, of Larchmont, N. Y. After a reception at the home of the bride, the couple left fori a wedding trip to The Hofhestead, Hot Springs, Va. Mrs. Chase is a graduate of Crewe High School and attended Longwood College. She is a mem ber of Alpha Sigma Tau. She is a niece of Mrs. C. A. Allen, of Prospect. Lt. Chase Is a graduate of Ver mont Academy and attended Am herst College. He is currently serving with the U. S. Armed Forces in Europe Out of town guests attended from Vermont, New York. Mary land and numerous military posts of the eastern seaboard.
