I - 'Bill of Rights' Original Sealed WASHINGTON — The official parchment copy of the original American "Bill of Rights" has been sealed in a helium filled glass case which will perma nently protect it from deteriora tion by harmful atmospheric gases the National Bureau of Standards and the Archivist of the United States announced re cently. Witn the sealing of the Bill of Rights, the preservation of the ; three documents which set down I the idear that symbolize Ameri can freedom is complete. The | Constitution and the Declara j lion of Independence were 1 sealed in helium by the same : process last year. These two j documents will be moved from ; their shrine in the Library of | Congress and put on permanent ! exhibit along with the Bill of Rights in the main hall of the national archives building. ! Each manuscript sheet is sealed in an air-tight envelope, consisting of two panes of glass bonded to a metal frame. The documents rest upon special cel lulose backing paper in an at i mosphere of pure helium hav ; ing a controlled humidity.
