Tigers FMI 64-57 To Roanoke’s Late Rally Monday Night Roanoke College spurted from behind during the final period Monday night to down Hampden Sydney. 64-57, at Death Valley. The victory gave Roanoke the conference lead since Mt. St. Mary's the only other four-gam. winner was knocked off by Amer ican University. Until tlie final stanza, the Tigers had held the upper hand most of the yay. With five min utes to go. Center Walt Dierks lipped in two buckets and Bruce Kaupt connected on two jump shots from the foul circle to ice the contest. Hampden-Sydney jumped away to a 23-12 lead after 12 minutes of play, but when Dierks started connecting an grabbing re bounds. the Maroons quickly moved into contention, finally knotting the count at 32-32 at: halftime. Hampden-Sydney led by three points after three quarters, but was outscored 18-8 during the last period.
