VETS NEWS For veterans who will apply for education cr training under the K >rean GI Bill, Veterans Admin istration offered advice cn two important items that must be listed in their applications. The first is a listing of the veteran's educational or vocation al goal, and the second is a statement of how he proposes to reach the goal. A careful consideration of both the goal and the means of reach ing it is vital. VA said, because tne Korean GI Bill provides that a veteran may make one change in his course'after he has start ed it. but no more than one. Examples of goals would be law or medicine as professional aims: high school or college diplomas as educational aims: or carpentry or plumbing as vocational aims. Examples of the listing for methods of reaching the goal would be a statement of the high est degree to be gotten, if a col lege or university course in in 1 volved. If the veteran does not i aim lor a degree in his education al training, he should list the ac tual subjects which will be taken under his plan. In vocational training, a description of the kind of work should be given. Korean veterans wishing to ato ply for education or training who are not sure of their goal or method of reaching it may re ceive special vocational guidance from VA. On the application form, they should check the box which requests guidance.
