The League of Mental Health in New York City recently announced a new low cost plan to make treatmenLhy well-known psychiatrists relatively inexpensive. Dr. Lewis Wender. honorary president of the League, says the program will permit priv ate treatments from well-known psychi atrists for as little as $5.00 a visit. The League will pay the difference. Arrangements have been worked out with 20 psychiatrists, whose fees usually run four or five times above the $5.00 figure, so they will treat patients being aid ed by social workers for much less than the normal amount.
