Chester Gap Home Demonstration Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Ruby Wines, March 23, at 2 p.m. The demonstration will be on “What to Know in Buying Fabrics for the Living Room.”
F. T. Valley No. 2 Home Demonstration Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Milton Sisk, March 24, at 2 p.m. The demonstration will be on “Salads that Bring Nutritive Value into the Diet.”
The newly organized club out on the Fodder Stack Road took as their demonstration this month “Bottoming Stools.” The women were shown how to put in a string type bottom. One oak stool was completed at the meeting . . .All the members present were given a chance at helping to bottom the stool. Several women present said they were going home and bottom all the chairs that needed it in their home. Help will be given,' if needed, at the next club meeting on this subject.
“What to Know in Buying Fabrics for the Living Room” was the demonstration taken up by the Amissville H. D. on the 8th. This meetii<g wt^s held at the home of Mrs. Ruby Green. A report of $62.00 was given as hte proceeds from the dance sponsored by the club two weeks ago. The agent announced the District Federation to be held in Fairfax May 2. The club decided to get up a car load, and attend this meeting. It was decided that oh May 30, there would be an all day meeting at Mrs. Less Walters on the subject of caning chairs. Women that are interested are going to bring chairs and cane them at this meeting. The hostess served very delicious refreshments.
The F. T. Valley H. D. Club met at the home of Mrs. J. G. ReVercomb, March 3. A letter was read by Mrs. C. R. Hite from the foreign family, who the club sent a box of food around Christmas. It was decided to send another box to this family next month.
Several women reported giving canned goods to the Belle Meade School for the purpose of making soup few- the children. This club is also going to try to get a car load up to go to the District Federation meeting in Fairfax.
