P.-T.A. Meets Monday

The Parent-Teacher Association of the Washington High School will meet at the school auditorium on Monday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m.

"The Princess Who Never Laughed,” an English Folk Tale in the form of a play written by the third grade, will be presented by them at this meeting, under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Jessie H. Cox. Those taking part in the play are Florence Atkins, Joyce Bailey, George H. Davis, III, Carolyn Gates Turner, Guy Foster, Daniel Foster, Dolly Riley, Neville Wood, Earl Menefee, Randall Updike, Alex Smoot, Elizabeth Printz, Betty Jean Settle, Billy Hawkins, Thurmon Wharton, Anna Mae Pullen, Edward Pullen, and David Burke.

Mrs. Katheryn W. Cahen will direct the group in the singing of several musical selections, “Oh, W'hat a Beautiful Morning,” “Grandfather’s Clock,” and “Amaryllis.”

New Circle Organized

At Baptist Church

A meeting was held Friday, Maich 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Washington Baptist church, for the purposeof organizing a Business Woman’s Circle. There were six members present and the following officers were elected:

President, Miss Mary Miller Wood; vice president, Mrs. Dora Updike; secretary, Miss Ethel Jenkins; treasrlrer, Miss Ruby Jenkins.

The circle adopted the name of Lou Keyser Circle for its title, after the late Mrs. Charlie Keyser, who was once president of the W. M. U. and for many years active in the work of this church.

As- their first project the circle decided to purchase some new program bulletins for the church. In order to raise funds for this project they are sponsorin'# a Stanley party to be held at the fire house at an early date.

The next regular monthly meeting will be held at the church Tuesday, April J8, at 7:00 p.m. Others interested in joining the circle are invited to be present at this time.
