Johannas Calvert Yowell
Johannas Calvert Yowell, for merly of Rappahannock, died &i the home of his parents in Cul peper, Friday, March 10, of pneu monia. He was 18 yeads of age the son of Mis. Virginia Withrov Yowell and Hugh Yowell, and was raised at the home place at Peola Mills, known as “Sharp Rock.”
Graveside services were held at 2 o’clock on Sunday afternoon at the Fairview^Cemetery at CulM'pe,with the Rev. A. Paul Thompson, pastor of the F. T. Baptist church officiating.
He is. survived by iiis parents and one brother, John Yowell.
MARCH MEETING OF W.S.C S.
The March meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service was held on Thursday night in the home of Mrs. George Brown. After opening with hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty,” Mrs. Nina Brown, president, read the scripture lesspn from I John 4:7-19, followed by reading in unison hymn “In Christ There is no East or West." The topic for the month being “Japan,’ra very timely playlet was presented by several members of the society which gave interesting news of missionary wor.k in this far-away •country. During the routine business session, Mrs. George Brown presented a small bag to each member for a “love offering” to be collected at Easter and applied to the fund for local work. Following the business session, refreshments were served during the social hour by the hostess.
