Garage Opened March 15
Lee Highway Garage opened for business yesterday, March 15, with Ernest Dupree as proprietor and Billy Ramey and Frank Huff as assistants. Gas and oil are onhand and the business will handle small repair jobs until all stock arrives and is put in order.
Mr. and Mrs. Dupree, formerly of Winchester, have been making their home in Florida for the past two years. Mrs. Dupree and the two daughters, Mary, 10, and Susie, 7, are expected to arrive today. They hope to make their home in the community.
Meathouse Robbed
Sheriff James M. Lillard is continuing the investigation of the reported meathouse robbery at Amissvrlle last Tuesday night. The sheriff was notified March 1 that five hams and two shoulders, were missing f. om the meathouse of Mrs. James Cropp, near Amissville.
Record S.S. Attendance
The Flint Hill Baptist Sunday School which has an enrollment of 80 members, had an outstanding record of 71 members present at Sunday school, Sunday, March 12.
A Red Cross film entitled “Red Cross News, 1350’’ was shown at the conclusion of the evening service at Flint Hill Baptist churcli Sunday evening.
Manassas Theatre Burns
The Pitts Tiieatre at Manassas burned Monday night, a complete loss in the seating part of the building, but the machinery in the projection booth was saved.
The fire supposedly started by an explosion of the furnace about 11:30 at night, 30 minutes after patrons had left the theatre.
Ten fiie companies fougnt several hours. At one time it appeared that tho fire would ppread through the block to business houses adjoining.
It is estimated that it will take three months before the theatre will be re-opened.
