Trial Justice Court
On Friday, March 10, the following cases were before Trial Justice B. M. Miller:
Monroe Kelly Atkins, entered a plea of guilty to charges of reckless driving and no operator’s permit. Fined $15 and costs.
M. K. Atkins, charged with attempt to intimidate a State Police officer in performance of his duties. Case continued to March 17.
Case of Ethan Elwyn Brown, in auto larceny, waived.
On Monday, March 13, case of Vance Dotglas Sawyer, pleading guilty to charge of passing on solid white line, fined $5 and costs; pleading guilty to speeding, fined $5 and coats.
Rockets Meet Warrenton
Monday At Sperryville
Rappahannock Rockets will play the Warrenton basketball teams, both boys and girls, on Monday night, March 20, at Sperryville high school auditorium, 7:30.
Manager Gibson Wharton' will be on hand to guide the Rockets.
Rocket Girls Defeat
Upperville; Boys Lose
The Rocket girls took a short lead of three points to win over Upperville, 39-36, Saturday night at Sperryville high school auditorium. This was a return game, for the Upperville ladies trimmed the Rappahannock Rockettes with that same three point lead at the time they played at Upperville.
The Rocket boys were holding their own in a close score until the last few minutes of the game when the Upperville hoys jumped ahead to win 39-31.
Another Date Made
For Judge Roy Bean
“Judge Roy Bean,’’ the 1949 grand champion steer at the International Livestock Exposition in Chicago, already scheduled to appear at three of the spring series of 4-H—FFA baby beef shows and sales, also has been booked for display at the show at Charlottesville, April 26.
D. E. Brower, 4-H livestock specialist at VPI, says the other shows at which Judge Roy Bean will appear are scheduled for April 25 at Portsmouth; April 27 in Staunton; and April 28 in Danville.
Newbill Miller an dBobby Atkins will show and sell their baby beeves at Charlottesville.
