Well, it’s past. Tomorrow will be St. Patrick’s clay—but yesterday, my friends, was Uncle Sammy's day. On March 15, our rich Uncle Sam collected from his about-to-be-tardy income -tax e'd nephews and nieces. Some few of us, of course, sent in the donation to Uncle Sammy’s till early in the year, and the old man felt so sorry for us that he returned hO cents—or maybe it was to prove that he wasn’t a cheap-skate and was willing that we should have that to help pay the interest on the amount we had to borrow in order to pay the income tax-. Then, too, there are a few whom Uncle Sammy considered had been left entirely too much money to waste, so it is understood he sent one fellow a bill for 20 cents additional payment.
